Spain is a country with ancient traditions. Not only flamenco and bulls make the cultural frame of our country. Maybe for some of you this is funny, but we used to wear red underwear in New Year's Eve. This tradition date back to Middle Ages, when it was not allowed wearing red garments. The reason why red was forbidden was that this colour was associated with blood, devil and witchcraft. However, people wore red garments anyway, believing that in the dark winter, red garments were a symbol of life. As red garments were not allowed, they wore it under their clothes, trying to avoid the major punishment - the gallows-.

I suggested you to take this funny habit. The panties and bra are from Chantelle at Harrods.
In the other hand, New Year's Eve night is hard also in the gastronomic sense. After having a dinner, in most of the cases of at least three courses, plus desserts, you have to eat 12 grapes, in the last 12 seconds of the year finishing. It's kind of funny, because normally at the beginning is ok, but eventually, some of your relatives make you laugh because they have their mouth absolutely full of grapes, so you start laughing, and then, you are dead. You can't eat properly any more. It is believed that each grape represents one month, and you'll attract the good luck in the year starting, but this happens only if you manage to eat each grape in each second, so at 12:oo you have your mouth full of grapes, but you don't have any in your plate. It's a really hard work!

9 notes:
My sister and I don't drink, so sometimes we toast grapes to each other.
Oh, and yes I managed to get up and to all my classes today. But I'm a rather chronic insomniac...
