Berskha vs Louis Vuitton

It's very annoying going inside high streets stores and seeing copies of catwalk looks. I can't stand it. I understand they have to take his inspiration from the big houses, but copy everything? Ok, we don't spend 1.ooo euros in a dress, but come on! we deserve something more than a simple copy! Here in Spain there is an open debate about authors' rights, because there are a lot of illegal dowloads (films, music, even books) but what about fashion houses? They are stolen every season, and nobody looks concerned. Last weekend I went shopping, and I took this picture from a Berskha (Inditex group, Zara's owner) advertisement. Sorry about the poor quality, it was with my mobile phone, but you still can see how similar it looks to LV ads. There is a yellow (I know it does not look like yellow, but it's) car, and a model on it. What a "coincidence"!

I know! I hate it when that happens. They're supposed to be inspired, but instead they create exact copies but in cheaper quality.

True we all want to dress elegantly, but at least let them come up with similar designs, not replicas.

that is the most shameless and blatant 'rip-off', I've seen for a while! Australian 'High Street' brands have been ripping off advertisements for years but I'm shocked that it would happen in Spain!

Hello, what a great point! I have seen this happening here in London as well.

The thing is that many glossy magazines really encourage them - they always put an expensive item and an identical cheaper version. I agree what you said - it will be much better they can inject some new ideas rather than a complete copy! A great post :)

how about high end ripping off high end - did anyone else note the LV v Mui Mui campaign?? scarlett and kirsten...jewel colours, high gloss, lots of ground laying... all very similar. xf

Well, the LV image is hardly the height of innovation - it's been done a million times. Bershka is perfectly fine.
