As you probably know, I hate when people copy designs from some others. This is a really incredible thing. I've bought this skirt last summer in Oxford (UK) in a small shop, when I was on holiday. Can you believe the similarities between it and the Roxy (Quiksilver) one?? I am so furious. I bought it because its tribal pattern, which I adore (and happily this year is on trend) and then, watching this ad on the magazine was just annoying.
Como probablemente ya sabréis, odio cuando la gente copia los diseños de otros. Esto es realmente increíble. La falda que veis aquí debajo la he comprado el verano pasado en una pequeña tienda de Oxford (Reino Unido) cuando estaba de vacaciones. ¿Podéis creeros lo que se parece a esta otra falda de Roxy (quiksilver) de esta temporada? Estoy super enfadada. Yo compré esta falda por el estampado tribal y a la vez original, lo que adoré desde el primer momento (y es genial que este año se lleva tanto lo tribal). Ver el anuncio en la revista fue simplemente muy desagradable.

Qué fuerte! Es exactamente igual!! Yo también me sentiría mal si hubiera comprado algo (en la otra punta del mundo, exagerando un poco...) y de repente lo veo convertido en algo comercial y al alcance de cualquiera...

No es que se parezca, es que son un calco. Hay prendas que es normal encontrarlas clonadas por puro básicas, sin embargo esto son muchas casualidades.

It is annoying . . . and sadly impossible to stop (as of yet). So many designers, DVF in particular, are struggling to change intellectual property laws to protect fabrics and styles. The skirt is still really cute!
Oh well, I know what you mean! I see copycats everywhere! I get really frustrated because at the end of the day I don't really know who is the owner of the idea! :(

The similiarity is unbelievable-I do like your version best though!
I guess Roxy copied because I bought mine last summer, so 2007, and this advert is from this summer 2008 (I've seen some days ago in a magazine).
Uncanny really. I wish there was more originality, because I honestly don't like things that everyone else has!
Hm, all those fast-fashion giants we all "worship" - sometimes for the lack of (affordable) alternative - offer us the exact rip-offs of current designer collections. Aren't we all copycats? I mean it. It is just modern to call it inspiration *lol*

ei! que roxy cambió las rayas horizontales por las verticales....mal pensados....atelier, ayer en el b&b me moría de la risa de los stands que no dejaban fotografiar....penoso. ni que dentro estuviera el cóctail mágico de la originalidad...tienes el secreto placer de llevar el original. muchos xx!
