Contradiction. That's the first word which comes to mind when thinking about fur garments. I used to hate people who wear fur coats, but not anymore. Maybe because I hate cynical people more. It's very respectable not wearing fur coats, but, if you eat meat, and you wear leather shoes and handbags, does it really make a difference? I think it doesn't. What I really don't approve now I will never do, it's having a coat of an endangered species, it's an atrocity, but that's another topic.

Despite weather is still ok, I borrowed this coat from my mum when thinking about my winter wardrobe. She never wears it, and she offers it to me...Maybe being a 22-year-old is too young to wear such a coat, or maybe not. I don't know, I still don't have a clean conscience about wearing fur, what do you think?

Contradicción. Es la primera palabra que me viene a la cabeza cuando pienso en las prendas de piel. Solía odiar a la gente que llevaba esos abrigos de piel, normalmente señoras mayores para las que su abrigo de visón -o de lo que fuera- era tan importante como el Mercedes para su marido, aunque cada vez hay menos de esas. Lo cierto es que me he dado cuenta que en realidad odio a los cínicos más. Es muy respetable no llevar prendas de piel, pero si comes carne, y llevas zapatos de piel y bolsos, ¿de qué sirve? Yo creo que de nada. Por lo que no paso es por los abrigos de animales en peligro de extinción, ya que eso es una salvajada y no tiene excusa, pero eso da para otro post.
A pesar de que el tiempo aún es bueno, estaba "mendigando" por casa viendo que podré aprovechar para el invierno, y mi madre me dejó probar este abrigo. Ella nunca lo usa y me dijo que me lo daba si lo quería. Quizás 22 años son pocos para llevar un abrigo como éste, o quizás no. Aún no tengo claro si mi conciencia puede soportar llevar un bicho encima... ¿y vosotros qué pensáis?

I live in Canada. I wear fur - albeit vintage or hand-me-downs, but fur nonetheless. I don't judge people who wear fake fur, though I don't think it feels very nice. Or that it is very warm. And when those people also eat and wear animals in other contexts, I think it's a bit odd. I say take the fur and wear it with gratitude for the animal who died and the warmth you receive. Just my opinion, of course.
i'm with k.line it really doesn't bother me if people wear real fur.. and i think the coat looks great on you..

I love fur I always have but I draw the line at new fur (or newly slaughtered fur). Vintage (20 + years old) is OK.

fur paired with belts is the ultimate chic choice. i don't own any fur, but i respect those who choose to wear vintage options.
hummmmmmmm, pueees, no se, esque el abrigo queda muy "arreglado" y con las medias encima... yo me lo podría con algo más informal. Unos pitillos, o unas medias tupidas. no se.

I'd feel funny wearing fur, just because. My mother offered me an old raccoon coat years ago, and I politely refused it, and this was well before I stopped eating meat.
I wear leather, though, so I don't know where I stand in the continuum.

I adore fur!
I wear my vintage fur coats. I live in Norway and it does get really cold in the winter. However, I would never wear new fur. I do think vintage and hand me downs are fine.The coat looks wonderful on you. I dont think age matters as long as you use it in a chic way:-
The coat is so beautiful it'd be a shame if you didn't wear it!
I don't like to judge people about wearing fur or leather.. But I still don't encourage wearing endangered animal fur or leather.
Also, I would buy fur that was ethically gained. Contradicting I know, but it makes me feel ok to know that the animal wasn't skinned alive.
