The Wild One

Surprisingly the biker jacket is still within us. After Marlon Brando's The Wild One (1954) biker clubs started to be formed and another subculture emerged.

In the Seventies the Punk aesthetic and the commercial movie Grease (1978) brought the biker jacket again. to the spotlight But it was in the Eighties when it became widely available for women. Paris Vogue supported Decarnin looks for Balmain and the rest is history. Despite of the ephemeral nature of fashion, the biker jacket is, again, the it garment of the season.

The A/W 09-10's options are endless

Hi there-yes, I adore the biker jacket, great post!! Now you are in the UK, do check out your local charity shops and check local papers for boot sales-this is where I get my bargains!!

Very true! I actually look rubbish in a biker jacket.

Glad you arrived in Epsom safely. Where are you in this small town?

I love mine and would hate for the trend to go away, though I don't think I'll stop wearing mine even if it would happen.
