Vionnet at Les Arts Décoratifs

The exhibition of Madame Vionnet at Les Arts Décoratifs (rue de Rivoli, Paris) was disappointing. Last summer I visited the Valentino exhibition and honestly I was expecting to enjoy Vionnet's one even more, but I didn't.

I happened to be with an American friend who is not interested in fashion at all but was really looking forward to visiting it after having come to Valentino's one last year, from which she said she had really enjoyed it. She was disappointed too. I will upload pictures on saturday as I dont have a proper internet access now.

I couldnt tell why, it may be that the dresses were not as eye-catching as I had imagined, maybe the fabrics, maybe there were too many people (it was while the Haute Couture shows were taking place in Paris; so too many fashionistas there...). You can visit the exhibition until January 2010.

La exposicion de Vionnet en Les Arts Décoratifs (rue de Rivoli, Paris) fue decepcionante. El verano pasado tuve la suerte de ver la de Valentino, y de esta esperaba disfrutar aun mas; pero no pudo ser.

Acudi a la exposicion con una amiga norteamericana que no esta interesada en la moda, pero casualmente habia ido el verano pasado a la de Valentino y estaba ansiosa por ver esta, ya que nosotras le habiamos dicho que seguramente seria mejor. Ella tambien salio decepcionada. Subire las fotos el sabado para que juzgueis por vosotros mismos ya que ahora tengo acceso limitado a Internet.

No podria decir por que; puede que los vestidos no fuesen tan llamativos como yo esperaba; o quizas las telas, o incluso puede que ese dia en el museo hubiera mucha gente (fue durante la semana de Alta Costura)...

La exposicion estara en Les Arts Decoratifs hasta enero del 2010

Bastille Day

Tomorrow is the 14th of July, the Bastille day in France. Last year was quite good, hopefully tomorrow it will be better. Sorry for the lack of posting, but I dont have Internet access and I can't manage to write anything decent. Thanks a lot for passing by!

Haute Couture

Yesterday we decided to go to the Chanel Haute Couture show. Obviously we didn't go inside, but we saw many cool people, such as Giovanna Battaglia, Vanessa Traina, Dermarchelier or Testino. The best is that I have pictures of all of them. Unfortunately I haven't carry my laptop and until I go back to Spain I won't be able to post it, but trust me, the wait is worthing; especially for Giovanna; she is so beautiful! Even more than in the pictures! She was with Testino

Ayer decidimos ir al desfile de Chanel Alta Costura. Obviamente no pudimos entrar; pero estar fuera fue mas que suficiente. Giovanna Battaglia, Vanessa Traina, Dermarchelier o Testino fueron solo algunos de los invitados que pudimos ver, y de los que tenemos fotos. El problema es que no he traido el portatil y hasta que no regrese a Espanha no podre postearlas; pero creedme; la espera merece la pena; especialmente por Giovanna, que iba mas que guapa.Tambien estaba nuestra Nati Abascal, que me miro mal por hacerle la foto (supongo que lo hizo porque la foto era de perfil), pero que grande es esa mujer

Paris, again

I am leaving for Paris today. I'll be there until the first of August. If you have any recommendation, please, feel free to let it here! I don't know if I will be able to post, but I hope so. Have a great summer you all!!

Cuba

Cuba. 110.860 km2. Always more than you had previously expected.

Music, fun, patience, sun, poverty, beauty, colorful, wait, Hemingway, people on the streets all day, massive tourism, rice, daiquiris, decadence, sunset, hot weather, green fields, some washing on the line, literature... the description could be endless. It was son intense that I think I have seen the essence of Cuba. And I love it.

Cuba. 110.860 kilómetros cuadrados. Siempre más de lo que previamente podrías esperarte.

Música, diversión, paciencia, sol, pobreza, belleza, colorido, espera, Hemingway, gente en las calles todo el día, turismo masivo, arroz, daiquiris, decadencia, puestas de sol, calor, campos verdes, ropa tendida, literatura... y la descripción podría ser infinita. Ha sido tan intenso que creo que he visto la esencia de Cuba. Y me ha encantado.
